Cheers to the beginning of another week! Add to that the fact Thanksgiving is coming up, and things are looking bright for the days ahead.
As the holiday season nears and commitments to family, friends, work and our personal lives seem to eat away the hours of the day, one of the most important topics this time of year is finding balance. With seemingly never-ending to do’s and gift shopping lists, sometimes it can be challenging to dedicate time to health and wellness. The key is remembering that balancing all aspects in life are particularly important contributors to overall health. Getting plenty of z’s and regularly incorporating vitamin-rich foods will help avoid any contagious colds or stress-induced symptoms. Feeling overwhelmed? Chamomile tea has calming effects which may relieve some anxiety and allow you to relax at the end of a busy day.
Earlier today, I indulged in my monthly pleasure of reading the latest issue (December 2012) of Women’s Health magazine. Cover star Kerry Washington touches on this same topic of balance by revealing her exercise secrets. On page 60 of the issue, the author writes:
“We live in a world where we do have the ability to be smart, bold, professional, talented women. But we are vulnerable human beings, you know? Which brings us back to Pilates. Having a workout routine that strengthens and calms not just the body but also the mind helps Kerry achieve something most of us strive for in life: a life in balance.”
