Someone recently introduced me to a really interesting exercise; one of the many thought provoking ideas originating from Timothy Ferriss (author of The 4-Hour Workweek). The idea is to think about how you would spend your life if you were a millionaire. Rather than waiting until you’re 60+ years old and counting down the days to retirement, you may be surprised at how many of your ideas can integrate into your current lifestyle. Once you’re able to begin adjusting your life to accommodate these changes, you’ll start feeling like a millionaire too! To think that a relatively quick exercise like this has radically changed my approach to each and every day is incredible.
I spent a few minutes to come up with a list of ten lifestyle habits I would implement if I had a million (or more) bucks.
The exercise was powerful for many reasons but namely, because I identified that I would not spend my time shopping or spending money, but rather filling each hour of the day with hobbies and activities I truly enjoy and find fulfilling.
I have a few items on my list which I’d like to share with you today.
If I were a millionaire, I’d…
-Eat healthy, avoid processed foods and genetically modified products and stick to a whole-foods diet.
– Consistently exercise and try new and challenging endeavors; use exercise as a means to travel and see new places.
– Write to inspire and help others make positive life changes
When I read through this, I realized I’m able to do (and in some cases, am already doing) ALL of these right now! No need to wait until that million dollar paycheck arrives in the mail. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s pretty awesome.
