At this time each year, like many others do, I inevitably reflect on the past twelve months and wonder what the next might bring. Life is funny though, in that you can never really predict exactly what is ahead, even when you create a vision and work toward it passionately . Last New Year’s I would not have predicted a cross-country move, a new job, and so many other wonderful things that have taken place. What I did set out to do was make a change – a huge one – and start fearlessly pursuing my goals, hopes and dreams. This vision included San Francisco, a balcony overlooking the city, an opportunity to workout outside year-round and a career in public relations. And here I am today, overlooking the beautiful city of SF from my balcony, on a sunny day in January, lacing up my running shoes for a morning run. Life’s funny.
To all of you who set out to make a change in 2014: pursue it ruthlessly. Write down a vision of what you see. Create your dream life through lists and inspiration boards. Remind yourself constantly what you are working toward. Find motivation in others. Seek support and love to guide you along the way. But most importantly, DO it. Make it happen. You have it in you and sometimes all it takes is a reminder. A year ago I set out to make a change and today, I gracefully enter 2014 with a sense of peace and calm, knowing that it was all worth it.
Here’s to a happy, healthy and adventurous year!
